How it works
Operating the Forno de Pizza is simple and fun.
- Assemble the 3-piece oven:
- Bolt the hearth to the portable cart
- Assemble the oven (dome) on top of the hearth
- Connect the on LP gas line
- Turn the pilot ON, and then turn the gas ON.
- Add small pieces of wood to the flame to kindle a small fire
- Once the wood ignites, use the brush to and add more wood to the center of the oven to build a bed of embers
- When the embers are red and hot, your oven should be ready for cooking
- Use the back of the oven brush to push a new log into the oven, pushing the embers to the back of oven
- Brush the cooking stone, throw some flour on it, and place the stone in the oven. The flour should burn within a couple seconds
- If the flour doesn’t burn, pull the embers back to the center of the oven and let embers get hotter
- Test again. Once the flour burns, your oven is hot and ready to use
- Coat a clean, hot stone with flour and brush the stone
- Place your pizza directly onto the hot stone
- Use the aluminum pizza peel to turn the pizza a quarter turn every 30 seconds or so
- Cook for just a few minutes
- Remove the pizza and enjoy
